How can we strengthen human dignity together?
From the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights to the European Democracy Shield and sustainable democracy work with humor
Democracy requires a foundation of shared values. Civil society organizations understand this better than many others. Democracy thrives when people respect the dignity of others, stand up for it, pay attention when it is violated, and actively engage — both in everyday life and on a larger scale.
The EU Charter of Fundamental Rights aims to provide a foundation of shared values for a peaceful future. Human dignity stands at the core of Chapter I. Yet, very few people are familiar with this Charter.
The European Democracy Shield proposes concrete measures to strengthen, protect, and promote strong and resilient democracies across the European Union.
An open civic space is at the heart of the Shield and the EU Strategy for Civil Society. Yet, hardly anyone knows about this Democracy Shield.
Look forward to a diverse program featuring inspiring workshops and engaging panel discussions. Together, let us create space for genuine exchange, fresh ideas, and valuable networking among equals — all in the spirit of a living democratic culture, including a touch of humor.
Expect inspiration, visibility, and meaningful dialogue in a relaxed atmosphere at Lake Wörthersee. For everyone committed to democracy, the rule of law, and European values.

17:00 Uhr - EU-Charta der Grundrechte: Grantees im Dialog – 5 Kategorien
Beim Ankommen erhält jede:r eine farbige Karte mit einem lebendigen /aktuellen Thema zu Charta und Grundrechte (z. B. Menschenwürde & Social Media, Freiheit der Meinung vs. Desinformation, Schutz personenbezogener Daten & digitale Plattformen, Recht auf Unversehrtheit & Abschiebung, Vielfalt der Kulturen, Religionen und Sprachen & Integration von Migratin:nen). In Kleingruppen tauschen sich die Grantees dazu aus – für neue Perspektiven, Inspiration und gemeinsame Ansätze.

Workshop mit André Martinuzzi und Team, WU Institut für Nachhaltigkeitsmanagement
Ziel des Workshops ist es, Humor als wirkungsvolles Instrument in der politischen Bildungsarbeit, Projektkommunikation und im zivilgesellschaftlichen Engagement erfahrbar zu machen.
Der Workshop kombiniert kurze theoretische Inputs mit interaktiven Übungen, Austausch in der Gruppe und praxisnahen Experimenten. Er lädt dazu ein, Humor bewusst zu erproben, eigene Zugänge zu erweitern und neue Impulse für die eigene Arbeit mitzunehmen – ganz im Sinne eines aktiven Mitdenkens und Mitgestaltens.
Im Vordergrund steht die praktische Anwendung: Mithilfe eines speziell entwickelten Humor-Kartensets mit 30 Karten werden kreative Prozesse angeregt und humorvolle Ideen gemeinsam erarbeitet, reflektiert und weiterentwickelt.

Take the A2 Southern Motorway and exit at Velden-West (coming from the west or south) or Velden-Ost (coming from the east). Continue into the town center and follow Strandcorso until it connects with Süduferstraße.

Public transport:
Participants can conveniently travel to Velden by train. From the station, Cap Wörth can be reached on foot in approximately 30 minutes.
